FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The competition promoter is Hastings City Business Association (HCBA) PO Box 420, Hastings 4156.

2. To enter this competition there is a minimum spend of $50 at a participating business. Participating businesses are those defined within the CBD map on this page. If you are unsure you can contact the promoter. 

3. One entry per receipt, for a minimum spend of $50.

4. There is no limit on the entries per person. The more entries entered the more chances to win.

5. Only entries named within Hastings CBD will be valid.

6. The entry period for purchasing is between 12:01am Monday 17 November 2025 to 11:59pm Thursday 18 December 2025. The winner will be drawn live on The Breeze radio station on Friday 19th December 2025.

7. Business operating hours of participating businesses will vary and HCBA have no bearing on this.

8. Entry is completed via the QR code on in-store posters and can be found at hastingscity.co.nz

9. The form must be completed in full for it to be processed.

10. The receipt of purchase must be retained for proof of purchase; this is the responsibility of the entrant and without such proof the prize cannot be claimed and as a result will be redrawn within 1 working day of the original announcement. A working day being defined for this purpose between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

11. It is the onus of the entrant to ask the business to provide them with a receipt. Especially in the event of a cash transaction.

12. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

13. The prize is $2500 Prezzy card voucher. The prize cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.

14. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophic event, natural disasters, civil or military disturbance, pandemic, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter. Changes will be published on competition website hastingscity.co.nz

15. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

16. The promoter cannot force all businesses within the CBD map to actively promote this campaign or to have all employees of their business actively advise or promote this campaign. The promoter is not responsible for a person purchasing from a business within the CBD map and not being informed by the salesperson, of the chance to enter the draw as a result of the purchase.

17. Purchases at an event held within the hastings CBD during this promotion are not valid as an entry, neither are bookings for activities outside of Hastings CBD i.e. ferry crossings, hotel bookings etc. 

18. Promoters reserve the right to disqualify any entries that do not fall within the purpose and processes of the campaign. An entry would be disqualified if the purchase was a bill payment where the provider was based within the CBD map. i.e. Rates, fines, electricity, television/ internet or any other payment that is deemed to fall within this category. Professional service businesses such as Accountants, lawyers, beauticians, hairdressers, tattoo parlours, travel agents etc. do count as a Business that a purchase would warrant an entry.

19. The winner will be drawn under police supervision. The winner will be notified within 48hours of such draw. If the original winner cannot be contacted within 48 hours the promoter reserves the right to redraw the prize.

a. The promoter will notify the winner when the prize can be redeemed.

20. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

21. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by New Zealand law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.

22. The winners agree to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winners or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current New Zealand data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

23. Purchasing a gift voucher to the value of $50 or more counts as a purchase suitable for entry, however redeeming a gift voucher does not.

24. The campaign is designed to encourage spending within the Hastings CBD as part of a broader CBD Marketing plan.

25. Business owners and employees are eligible to enter providing their purchases are from businesses they do not own or work in.

26. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
